Dear Thorn of My Flesh,
I would like to thank you for the pain you have caused; because without it, I would lack compassion towards others. In the same breath; the pain that was caused, once turned me cold to the point that I could care less about anything, let alone another soul. You could say that the dynamic we have is a "love & hate" relationship; and if used correctly, could play a huge part in my self-growth. I have the choice to let you consume me; and to continue to live in misery, or I can have you assist me as part of the "fuel" that ignites a promising future! Others who do not wish me well are counting on you to destroy what is left of me; or to at least keep me at "neutral." I hate to disappoint; but my life is worthy of great things, and I have the spiritual foundation to get me through the darkest days. I did not ask you to be here; or to even be a part of the journey... But since you are here to stay; let's work together and make a positive impact on the things that were meant to destroy others. I'll "ruffle feathers" along the way; but the overall goal is resilience, taking each obstacle one second, moment, or day at a time. There will be moments when you will be too much to bear; but in those moments, true life lessons are born. Thorn of My Flesh... I thank you for your presence; because of you, I am kept humbled in the journey ahead. Sincerely, Your Ally

This journey right here is not for the weak!
Trials that challenge one on a regular; that alone would make a white flag wave. Anytime we want to level up; revelation becomes clear. Other people's motives and intentions revealed... Nothing personal to you; but it's their own insecurities. Your level up means they have to view themselves in a new light, and not all things "shine bright like a diamond" my dear. Hold on to a foundation that will get you through the tribulations; whether you are an Atheist or a Buddhist, storms will still exist. Let us not take on the full burdens; that was never ours to begin with! Let us not cling on to our relationships; because we are only human, and change like the seasons. A relationship with Christ is not a fairy tale; it's a Journey, a Lifestyle, a Foundation that never wavers. We are so quick to run to everything (or items in some cases), to get the things we can only get from him! Chasing temporary things and people... Settling for things that don't value or define our ultimate worth. Letting the losses and the pain; strain a relationship with the one who can take it all away! It's a Journey... Not a Sprint... It's a tough love; and Warriors and Soldiers are made as a result! No longer riding the wave of the ever changing cold world; but finally on a solid foundation where Hope, Peace, Love, Joy, Patience, and Worth can be found. Meeting us right where we are; a Father, a Friend, A Healer... Everything that we have been chasing, has been nearby this whole time!
