Recovery Blues

Memories of the good and bad floods my mind consistently!

Even though the bad outweighed the good times; I still tend to grasp on to what is now considered the “good old days!”

Mind blown at the concept of using this phrase; bones cracking from time to time, so this is not a dream indeed!

Reality! Splashing and revealing itself each day. Spent most of my years disassociated from the pain that was afflicted upon me.

Awaken from the coma I have been in; and realizing that 40 is just around the corner, and 50  isn’t that far behind!

40! 50! Vanity knocking at my soul; trying to put its claws within me to paralyze & destroy the progress made!

A Testimony! That is what our scars and wounds consist of!

A Gift! That is what today brings all of us who still have air in our lungs and a heart that still beats!

A Purpose! That is why we are still here!
